We all know that a good night’s sleep is essential for our everyday wellbeing and for the more vulnerable; an unsettled night can lead to greater care requirements throughout the day.
A poor night’s sleep impacts on a person’s ability to undertake daily tasks, can leave them more unsteady on their feet and can result in increased levels of confusion.
In addition, on-going poor sleep patterns can lead to isolation throughout in the day when catching up on sleep, meaning a person may be unable to interact when family and friends visit or may struggle to engage at a level that they normally would and become more anxious of night time hours.
With this in mind, care and support throughout the night in the form of a night care service can be equally as important as providing care throughout the day.
A service that changes as you do
We understand that your care requirements may change as your condition improves or deteriorates. As a result we offer a flexible service that can be regularly reviewed and adapted at any time to suit your needs.
It is quite common following a stay in hospital or a change in surroundings or personal circumstances that you’re not going to know exactly what level of support you require during the night. In these cases, we will look to review your care needs over the first few days of your return home and work closely with you and your family to ensure the safest and most appropriate level of care is provided.
How Can We Help You?
By offering two levels of night care services; Waking Night and Sleeping Night, Blessing Agencies can ensure that the night time hours for you or a loved one pass with comfort and confidence.
By providing experienced Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants or Nurses to support you throughout the night, we can ensure that you feel relaxed and assured that you are not on your own during the time you feel most vulnerable.
Our healthcare professionals can be there throughout the night to ensure that if you need assistance you are able to move about the house with safety, or alternatively, just be there for the reassurance that if you wake in the night you are not on your own.
We can support with positive night time routines such as bathing, domestic tasks like changing bedding and ensuring there are clean and suitable night clothes available. Evening drinks and meals can be prepared so that in the night the need to move around the house is less and our Carers and Nurses can take way the anxiety of toileting alone.
Maintaining a homely environment, our Carers and Nurses are able to dress in appropriate but identifiable night time clothing, thus reducing confusion should you wake in the night. They can also keep you informed of the time should you wish to make a decision regarding what time you get up and offer a friendly comforting face at any hour.
Our service can be provided on a long or short term basis and can be delivered at intervals to suit your convenience. So, whether your family would benefit from some respite, you are recovering from a period of illness or you require short term holiday cover, we can adapt our service to meet your individual requirements.
